With his new EP for CLR, Alex Bau proves once again how efficiently the bass drum, interlinked with only a few sounds, can discharge in a roaring inferno.
In „Diabolika“, the bass drum stumbles skillfully into the break, and the sounds patter down like a load of gravel when a digger slowly unloads the shovel. A brief backpedaling and the bass drum marches on - with double intensity.
The flipside „Gusts“ shows how the bass drum can cooperate perfectly with diverse static noises. Later on it will be vexed by a clap with an imperative that has not been heard in a long time. Alex Bau in top form.
